The beginnings of Liza Galore Gamefarm started in the year 1963. Our first set of fowls were acquired from Billy Ruble who at that time was dominating the major circuit fights in the US. At first, we were fighting his cocks and little did we have in mind to breed from them. However, the restrictions in the importation of cocks in 1964 left us with no other recourse but to breed the Rubles Hatch. The rest is history... As to the name Liza Galore, when we joined some derbies at first, all of our entries were named Liza. Prior to one of our out of town derbies in Davao in the late 60's, we watched a James Bond movie where there was a lady villain named Pussy Galore. I somehow liked that name and there and then, I decided to name my entry Liza Galore. And fortunately, we won that deby! And since then, it has been Liza Galore all throughout and up to the present. |
